Charlotte Lovejoy

Somatic, DBT, & Art Therapy

Charlotte identifies as a white, cis-gender (she/her) queer female who understands how it feels to face what can feel like insurmountable challenges around trauma as well as how our unique ways of being are not always supported in our social reality. She knows it can be hard to imagine any way forward at times. She is passionate about facing these challenges with you, tapping into the incredible strength and unique gifts that you hold in order to find an easier, more aligned path forward.

Charlotte holds a Master’s in Counseling from Naropa University, with a specialization in Art Therapy. She is a licensed professional counselor candidate (LPCC) and provisional art therapist (ATR-P) who provides a holistic approach to healing by bringing options such as art therapy, meditation, and somatic exercises to those who respond to these modalities- in addition to evidence-based therapies (such as DBT). Charlotte believes these techniques can be powerful for diversifying how our brains and bodies communicate -- and can reinforce the life-changing benefits of traditional talk therapy. Her goal is to create a therapeutic space that is reliable and trauma-informed by creating structure and routine for sessions with her clients. Taking a systemic lens- she takes into account everything, including the environmental and social contexts, neurobiology, challenges, and strengths that make up your life. She is trained in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, art therapy, neurodiversity-affirming therapies, yoga, and neurofeedback to support this approach.

She enjoys supporting clients through collaboration, building a unique-to-you relationship from the ground up that can meet your needs in therapy. This can mean working with you to discover what healing modalities you respond best to according to your values, collaborating on the structure of sessions, and re-assessing therapeutic goals and feedback consistently. She values cultural humility, systemic or social justice approaches, and empowering clients within the therapeutic relationship & beyond. She is eager to learn what is important to you and what shapes your world.

In her free time, she spends time in nature, practicing yoga, and making art. These activities help her feel connect to herself more fully and feel held. Self & community care is important to her, both personally and professionally.

Charlotte is open to new individual adult clients for both online sessions throughout Colorado & in-person sessions at our Boulder office. She accepts both private pay and medicaid (CoAccess & CCHA).
