Raymond Tapia, MA, LPCC
Trauma-Informed, Somatic Centered Mindfulness
Raymond (he/they) understands how life's challenges can lead to overwhelm and isolation, creating a deep longing for authentic connection. He recognizes disconnection as a reflection of deeper disruptions within our relationships—not just with others and the systems we are a part of, but also with our own self. Through somatic-centered contemplative psychotherapy, Raymond supports you in reclaiming a sense of connection and meaning by cultivating a refined awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations through experiential mindfulness and embodiment techniques.
Embodying multiple liminal identities, Raymond understands the complexities of navigating identity and self-acceptance. He passionately supports you in exploring your own unique intersectionality, uncovering the inherent strengths and challenges within your embodied existence. Recognizing that self integration is inextricably linked to the broader social context, Raymond provides trauma-informed care rooted in cultural humility and social justice. Raymond's therapeutic approach acknowledges the inseparability of individual and collective healing and believes that supporting the health of an individual also means actively disrupting oppressive systems that perpetuate harm, both within and beyond the therapeutic space.
Raymond supports people facing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and existential concerns, assisting them in integrating their personal experiences with the broader social context to reclaim their sense of belonging and purpose in the world. Raymond is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), who earned his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, specializing in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology.
